Why won't my saved book open?
Short version: don't use your browser's Save Page As… on the reader page. Use the Download PDF button inside the book's ⋮ menu instead.
If you saw an error like "Loading chunk X failed" or a blank page after opening a book file from your computer, the saved file is the problem, not your account. Using your browser's Save page as... option saves the web page wrapper, not the book itself — the book's code lives on TailoredRead and can't run from your downloads folder.
Your book is still in your account. To keep an offline copy, use the built-in PDF download:
- Open Your Library on TailoredRead and select your book.
- In the reader, select the ⋮ icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Download PDF for Tablet or Computer or Download PDF for Phone.
- Open the PDF from your downloads folder — it reads cleanly without an internet connection.
Seeing a chunk error on tailoredread.com itself, not a saved file? That usually means a stale browser cache from an
older version of the site. A hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R on Windows/Linux, ⌘+Shift+R on Mac) clears it. If it
persists, contact us with a screenshot and the URL.
