How can I download a book as a Word document?

Word download is available with the Commercial or Author license. Go to Your Library, open the book, select the ⋮ menu in the top-right corner, and select Download Word Document. The file downloads as a .docx you can edit in Microsoft Word or Google Docs.

All editing happens in that file — TailoredRead doesn't have an in-app editor. See can I edit my book inside TailoredRead? for the full workflow.

About the formatting

The .docx is built for editing, not for pixel-matching the PDF. Fonts, margins, and cover styling may look different from the PDF — Word and other word processors apply their own defaults.

About the table of contents

The table of contents lists every chapter and section, with chapter titles in bold and each entry linked to jump straight to it. It's ready to read and navigate as soon as you open the file. It doesn't show page numbers.

Adding page numbers

Every heading in the file already uses a real heading style, so Word and Google Docs can build their own page-numbered table of contents from it.

In Word, select the References tab, then Table of Contents, and pick a style. In Google Docs, select Insert, then Page elements, then Table of contents.

The new table shows real page numbers right away. If you later add, remove, or rearrange content, right-click it, select Update Field, then Update entire table to refresh the numbers.
