Do you publish, print, distribute, or sell the books?

No. TailoredRead writes your book and gives you a downloadable .docx file. Publishing, printing, distribution, and selling are up to you, with the tools or services of your choice. We don't sell, print, or distribute books on your behalf, and we don't offer royalties or profit sharing.

With the Author license, you have full rights to edit, publish, and sell your book. A few common paths people take:

  • Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP): the most-used self-publishing route, covering Kindle ebooks and print-on-demand paperbacks.
  • Gumroad or Etsy: digital marketplaces where you can sell the PDF or other files directly to buyers.
  • Apple Books, Barnes & Noble Press, Kobo Writing Life: other self-publishing storefronts, each with their own rules for formatting, metadata, and pricing.

We can't advise on which to pick. Publishing and distribution are outside our scope, and which platform fits depends on your audience and format. Plenty of detailed guides exist online; Reedsy's self-publishing guide is a solid starting point (we're not affiliated).

Before you publish on any platform, download the Word file and edit it, especially the cover, the title page, and the author byline. See how do I put my name as the author? for the title-page workflow.
